Kay Jeweler CEO Dennis Johnson and CEO Kay Jewelier’s new flagship store in New York City will be a big draw for those visiting the New York-based jewelry chain.
The new store, which will feature a wide selection of jewelry, will open this month in a historic location at the Brooklyn Bridge, located in the heart of the city’s financial district.
The store is also the first of its kind in the world, Johnson said.
“We have had many other stores open, but we wanted to build something new, something that people would say is unique and not just a mall,” Johnson said in a statement.
The space will feature three levels of merchandise, including an “Art Gallery” where visitors can buy works of art and collectibles from around the world.
The shop is also expected to feature live performances, with a rotating lineup of artists.
In addition to the jewelry, the new shop will feature food and beverages, as well as a wide variety of services.
In the U.S., the new store will also be the third store of its size in the country.
The first store opened in New Jersey in the early 2000s, and the second opened in Seattle in 2009.
The third store, opening in New Orleans, is still being built.
“The new store is something that we have always dreamed of doing, and we’re really excited to be bringing it to New York,” Johnson added.
The move comes amid an ongoing fight over whether to build a second, larger mall in the city.
Johnson said the new location will also help attract younger customers who may be considering a new style of jewelry.
The chain was recently valued at $9 billion.
Johnson also said the company is currently working on a third store in Brooklyn, which could open as early as 2017.
